‘Summer holidays are on the horizon,’ Melissa wrote on Instagram

‘Here are some inspiration items to consider when packing for your summer vacay whether it’s a beach or resort getaway.’

She said: ‘It’s all about packing enough variety you can mix and match with, which comes back to each piece being able to be worn three ways (yes, this even applies for a holiday).’

For her own trips, Melissa (pictured) said you always need to take something that you can be active in and wear with existing tops

For her own trips, Melissa typically takes a two-piece shirt and short set.

The shorts can be worn either with the shirt or with a basic white or black T-shirt, a ribbed tank top or a smooth tank top for four different ‘easy’ looks.

She also brings a pair of denim shorts and another colour shorts.

‘The denim shorts are for the day and the other pair can be elevated [for night],’ Melissa said.

The stylist also brings a light layer, whether it’s a light summer jacket or a denim shirt or jacket.

She likes to bring several pairs of shorts, which can be dressed up or down depending how you wear them (pictured)

Finally, Melissa always brings ‘dresses in multiple lengths’, with at least one block solid colour option and one printed option.

She also brings swimwear and beach cover-ups. Again, the same rule applies and you need at least one block colour piece of swimwear and one printed option.

‘I like to bring something I can be active in, but also add my existing tops,’ Melissa said.

‘Last but not least, I take two pairs of sunglasses: one pair of classic black and one fun print.’

She added: ‘Safe travels!’
